NAIROBI, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Monday.

-- Lawyers for opposition leader Raila Odinga have served their 25,000-page presidential election petition papers to President Uhuru Kenyatta and the electoral commission, paving the way for the start of a rigorous legal battle for the country's highest office.

Odinga's National Super Alliance's (NASA) legal team opted to serve Kenyatta, the electoral and its chairman through an advertisement in the newspaper on Sunday. Should the court agree with NASA, the election should be held within 60 days of the court's declaration. (Daily Nation)
