BANGKOK, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- A meeting of border provincial governors of Thailand and Cambodia is scheduled next week in Phnom Penh, during which the two sides will discuss cross-border trade and transport development, said Thailand's Interior Ministry spokesman Chayapon Thitisak on Saturday
Thailand's Interior Minister Anupong Paojinda and Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Kheng will co-chair the meeting of the governors of the Thai and Cambodian border provinces in the Cambodian capital on Aug. 23-25, the spokesman said.
The meeting, being the sixth of its kind, is jointly organized in a bid to promote bilateral cooperation, trade, investment, labor and cross-border trading, among others, he said.
Participating in the Phnom Penh meeting on the Thai side are government officials from varied agencies in addition to the provincial governors of Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, Ubon Ratchathani, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi and Trat, all sharing border with Cambodia.
