RIYADH, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz said the kingdom disapproves of the terror attack in Barcelona, calling it "heinous crimes," the Al Arabiya TV reported Saturday.

In a cable of condolences sent to Spanish Monarch Felipe VI, King Salman also expressed "sincere condolences and faithful consolation" to the Spanish monarch and the families of the victims, while wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

The king also reiterated the Kingdom's "unflinching stance in rejecting terrorism, in all forms and manifestations and asserting the significance of internationally concerted endeavors to confront and uprooting it."

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has also sent a cable of condolences to Spain, the report said.

A van ploughed into a busy pedestrian zone Thursday in Barcelona, killing at least 13 people and injuring over 100 others. The terror group Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

On early Friday morning, a woman was killed and six others were wounded in a knife attack by five terror suspects on the seaside promenade in Cambrils, a town south of Barcelona.
