DUBAI, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Abu Dhabi crown prince of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on Friday sent his condolences to the victims of the recent terror attacks in Barcelona, Spain.

He called the attackers as "cowardly terrorists in Barcelona," and sent his "sincere condolences and sympathy to the leadership and people of Spain."

He also wished a quick recovery for the injured.

The Royal family Al-Nahyan enjoys traditionally close relations with King of Spain and the European country's royal family.

The number of people killed in Thursday's double terror attacks rose to 14, after a woman died of injuries in hospital, the Catalan emergency services confirmed on Friday.

Up to 14 died and 100 others have been injured at Barcelona's iconic Las Ramblas street when a van rammed into people in the pedestrian area.

Hours later, Spanish police foiled the second terror attack and killed five alleged terrorists who hit pedestrians in the Catalan resort town of Cambrils, about 100 kilometers southwest of Barcelona.
