Estonia condemns Barcelona terror attack

TALLINN, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Estonia strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Barcelona that left at least 13 people dead and more than 100 others injured Thursday.

In a press statement released on Friday, Estonian Foreign Minister Sven Mikser deplored the act of terrorism in a tourist district in Barcelona, Spain.

"We deeply condemn this brutal terrorist attack. Such inhuman attacks have no place in our world," Mikser was quoted as saying.

"I express my sincere sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims and to the people of Spain." he added.

In a statement on Thursday night, Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas strongly condemned the barbaric attack.

A van ploughed into a busy pedestrian zone Thursday in Barcelona, killing at least 13 people and injuring over 100 others. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the massacre.
