KAMPALA, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Uganda on Thursday named its squad that will face off with neighboring Rwanda in the return leg of the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier on Saturday.

Uganda's national football team, Cranes, carried a 3-0 advantage after the win last weekend when it hosted the Rwandese national team, Amavubi.

"We are going to Kigali to fight and qualify for the Championship. Playing Rwanda at the artificial pitch of Nyamirambo Stadium will not be an easy task, but we are ready to battle," coach Moses Basena told Xinhua in an interview.

Uganda's skipper Bernard Muwanga said they will treat the game like a final.

"We have the advantage after winning the first leg, but we shall treat the game very differently because we must be very cautious," he said.

The Cranes can afford to suffer a 2-0 defeat and still qualify for the Championship.

Defender Savio Kabugo who traveled to South Africa for professional trials will miss the game, while Timothy Awany who missed the first leg has been selected to make the trip.

The CHAN tournament is played among local players featuring in the national leagues in their respective clubs in Africa.

Uganda has featured in the last three CHAN Championships in Sudan (2011), South Africa (2014) and Rwanda (2016).

Following is the squad:

Goalkeepers: Ismael Watenga, Benjamin Ochan

Defenders: Nicholas Wakiro Wadada, Deus Bukenya, Isaac Muleme, Martin Kizza, Bernard Muwanga, Timothy Awany, Paul Musamali.

Midfielders: Muzamir Mutyaba, Shafic Kagimu, Tom Masiko, Paul Mucureezi, Milton Karisa

Strikers: Simon Serukunma, Moses Waiswa, Erisa Ssekisambu, Derrick Nsibambi.
