BEIJING Aug. 12 (Xinhuanet) – The 2017 Asian Motorboat Open closed Friday in Danjiangkou, central China’s Hubei Province.
Chinese riders claimed multiple titles in different categories of the competition.
Riders were impressed by the host city for its water quality of competition area and local residents' hospitality.
Wei Xing, Deputy Secretary General of Chinese Motorboat Association, said the Asia Motorboat Open offers an opportunity for riders across the world to exchange and strengthen their friendship.
A total of 20 teams with over 130 riders from countries and regions including China, Japan, Malaysia, South Africa, Finland competed in the 3-day event.
Danjiangkou has successfully hosted the Asia Motorboat Open for four consecutive years.
This year’s event has set a new record in terms of its scale and the number of participants.
