YANGON, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar is striving to promote domestic dairy industry by raising the standard of its products, official media reported Friday.
At present, the country's Livestock Breeding and Veterinary department is exerting efforts to establish standards for milk products to place them in the market after obtaining approval from Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Systematic laboratory tests and microbiological standards for raw material used in manufacturing dairy products plays the vital role for healthy and hygienic dairy production.
About 20 members of Myanmar Dairy Products Manufacturers' Association will be sent to Thailand for dairy production course this month.
Milk products from some countries including Britain, Thailand, New Zealand, Ireland and Poland are usually imported to the country.
