Morocco, Thailand keen to boost education cooperation

RABAT, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Morocco and Thailand discussed here on Thursday means to boost cooperation in the field of education.

During a meeting between Moroccan Deputy Foreign Minister Mounia Boucetta and Thai Deputy Minister of Education Chaiwong Surachet, the two officials stressed the need to reinforce cooperation in French teaching, scholarships and student exchange programs, according to a statement from the Moroccan foreign ministry.

Surachet expressed her country's willingness to benefit from Morocco's experience in the training of young Thais.

Morocco and Thailand established diplomatic relations in 1985, and the North African kingdom has since adopted various initiatives to strengthen ties with South Asian countries.

Last year, Morocco joined the Association of Southeast Asian Nation's (ASEAN) Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC). Enditem
