KIEV, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- A passenger train crashed into a car in Ukraine's western Ivano-Frankivsk region on Wednesday, killing a couple and their two children, authorities said.
The car was struck by an express train en route from Kiev to a mountain resort of Vorokhta at about 8:20 a.m. local time at an unprotected rural railway crossing, said the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The 37-year-old car driver, his 35-year-old wife and two their children, aged 4 years and 3 years, died at the scene. The train drivers and passengers escaped unhurt.
The collision marked the second fatal road accident in Ukraine involving a train and a car in less than two months.
On July 5, two parents and their one-year-old baby died after their car was hit by a train at an unprotected rail crossing in Ukraine's southern Zaporozhe region. Enditem
