RIYADH, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia denied on Wednesday allowing Qatar carriers from using its airports and airspace, Al Arabia local news reported.

Saudi civil aviation authority affirmed that the boycott of Qatar, including preventing Qatari carriers from using the kingdom's airports and airspace, continues.

The authority was responding to some news reports that highlighted easing the ban on Qatar carriers, saying these reports were based on some voluntary sites such as Flightradar24 that provide inaccurate images.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt cut diplomatic and transport ties with Qatar in June, accusing it of fomenting regional unrest, supporting terrorism and getting too close to Iran, all of which Doha denies.

In all, 18 destinations in the region are now out of bounds for Qatar Airways, which has also been forced to close its offices in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
