AMMAN, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Jordan and Algeria on Tuesday stressed that the two-state solution was the key and only vital solution to address the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
At a meeting between Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Algerian counterpart Abdelqader Msahel, the two sides said resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict should also be in line with the Arab peace initiative, which offers Israel normal ties with the Arabs in return for withdrawal from territories it occupied in 1967.
Any solution should also be in parallel with the international legitimacy resolutions and UN resolutions as well, they said.
Stressing that resolving this conflict was key to regional stability and security the two sides also discussed the situation in Syria and Libya and means to bring about security in the two countries.
In this regard, Safadi called for political solutions to address regional crises, calling for increased Arab cooperation to face such issues.
Discussions also covered strategic cooperation between the two countries in various areas.
The two sides also decided that the meetings of the Jordanian-Algerian Higher Joint Committee will be held before the end of this year in Amman to discuss various aspects of cooperation.
