ISTANBUL, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 hit the southwestern coast of Turkey on Tuesday with no casualties reported so far, according to Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
The epicenter was determined as the Gokova Bay near the Aegean coastal town of Bodrum, AFAD released on its website.
Witnesses described the quake as "very strong" on social media.
AFAD has measured at least four smaller quakes in the region since Monday night prior to that one.
Last month a strong quake with a magnitude of 6.6 killed two people on the Greek island of Kos, and injured 100 others in Bodrum.
