CAIRO, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Egypt is applying a new security plan in the Red Sea resort to protect tourists and citizens and also preserve tourism rates, MENA news agency reported on Monday.

Red Sea security chief Hossam el Din Kamal said on Monday a new security plan is being applied in the tourist governorate to protect tourists and citizens and also preserve tourism rates.

The integrated plan is based on intensifying security presence in the governorate and good treatment of citizens, he said in press statement.

He promised citizens that they will sense a security improvement in the governorate and an increase in the number of patrols and campaigns.

He also reiterated commitment to implementing the interior minister's directives in removing transgressions on state property.
