Bolt reaches men's 100m final at athletics worlds

LONDON, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- World record holder Usain Bolt reached the men's finals at the World Athletics Championships here on Saturday.

Bolt, who will retire after the event, clocked 9.98 seconds in his heat, finishing second behind American youngster Christian Coleman in 9.97.

Former world champion Justin Gatlin also advanced to the final, qualifying from heat 1 as the second placer in 10.09 seconds. South Africa's Akani Simbine won the group in 10.05.

China's Su Bingtian, who became the first Chinese to run a 100m final in the World Championships two years ago in Beijing, also booked a berth as the lucky third finisher in heat 2 in 10.10.
