BRUSSELS, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Thursday condemned the attack on a NATO convoy in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan.

Stoltenberg said in a statement that two U.S. soldiers died and four more were wounded in Wednesday's attack.

"This cowardly and brutal attack will not deter us in our mission to help the Afghan security forces stabilize their country, and prevent it from ever again becoming a safe haven for international terrorism," NATO chief said.

Currently, around 13,000 troops from 39 NATO and partner countries are in Afghanistan, training the Afghan forces within the framework of NATO-led Resolute Support mission.
