HANOI, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's central Da Nang city has yet to license taxi-hailing App Uber and will strictly handle Uber Vietnam if it launches the service on a pilot basis there, the municipal Transport Bureau said on Thursday.
Da Nang will consider allowing Uber to run the service after the Vietnamese Transport Ministry reviews the two-year trial operation of ride-sharing companies such as Grab and Uber.
In June, Vietnamese cities and provinces nationwide were asked to cease licensing new taxi-hailing apps on a trial basis.
Earlier, Vietnam's agencies allowed seven ride-sharing companies to operate on a trial basis in the capital of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the central Khanh Hoa province.
