YANGON, July 29 (Xinhua) -- A total of 35 people have been infected with seasonal influenza A/H1N1-2009, also known as swine flu, in Myanmar, claiming the lives of six as of Friday, the Yangon Region Health Department said.

Ten patients receiving treatment for H1N1 at Chin state's Matupi People's Hospital have been discharged from the hospital after recovery from the illness.

The health department is carrying out prevention and control of H1N1 virus to reduce the risk of fatality from the virus and to raise awareness by holding knowledge sharing seminars in public areas, including schools, hospitals, factories, bus stops, railway stations, ports and airports.
