ANKARA, July 28 (Xinhua) -- The Turkish troops killed 55 militants of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in operations carried out in the country's southeastern and eastern regions from July 20 to 27, local media reported Friday.

Weapons in quantity were seized and 45 Improvised Explosive Devices were destroyed by explosive ordnance teams, the Daily Sabah reported, citing a statement of Turkish Armed Force.

A total of 18 shelters, caves and depots used by the PKK were destroyed, the statement said.

A Turkish soldier was killed and six others injured during clashes, it added.

The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the EU, has resumed its armed campaign against the Turkish government since July 2015.
