LISBON, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The 63rd Eurovision Song Contest will take place here in May next year, the European Broadcasting Union and Portuguese national TV station RTP announced here on Tuesday.
Portugal won the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time on May 13 this year with the song "Amar pelos dos (Love for two)" performed by Salvador Sobral and written by his sister Luisa.
Lisbon was chosen to host the contest out of four other Portuguese cities.
This is the first time the contest will be held in Portugal.
