PARIS, July 25 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Tuesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.65 percent, or 33.38 points, to close at 5,161.08 points.
Altogether 27 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
Steel giant ArcelorMittal advanced 3.26 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French banking giant Societe Generale rose 2.60 percent. Credit Agricole, a French network of cooperative and mutual banks gained 2.34 percent.
Oil and gas firm Technipfmc went down by 1.83 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe lost 1.21 percent. Mobile phone maker Nokia edged down 1.16 percent. Enditem
