AMMAN, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Jordan made no deals or negotiations in dealing with shooting incident near Israeli embassy that led to the death of two Jordanians, Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi said Tuesday.
Jordan insisted on interrogating the Israeli who killed two Jordanians although he enjoys diplomatic immunity, Safadi said during a press conference Tuesday.
It is in Jordan's interest to respect the international law. Jordan is committed to the international laws that protest the interests of states. Jordan will continue efforts to restore stability in Jerusalem, he added.
King Abdullah II of Jordan is exerting tremendous efforts to restore stability and security in Jerusalem's AL Haram Al Sharif and Al Aqsa Mosque, Safadi said.
Minister of State for Legal Affairs Besher Khasawneh stressed that Jordan deals with the case in line with the international law.
On Sunday, the police said a Jordanian teenager tried to stab an Israeli embassy staffer with a screwdriver following a dispute over the delay in delivering furniture to a house near the Israeli embassy in Amman that was rented by the Israeli embassy staffer.
Jordan is exerting efforts to place pressure on Israel not to alter the status quo in east Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque.
