DUBAI, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Anwar Gargash, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Foreign Affairs said on Friday through Twitter that Qatar's decree to amend the law on combating terrorism was "a positive step."
In a sign of detente since the outbreak of the Gulf crisis, Gargash tweeted to his 449,000 followers on twitter that the Qatari decree was positive because it has the capability "to deal seriously with the list of 59 terrorists."
Back in June, the Saudi-led quartet, of which the UAE is part of, issued a list of 59 individuals and 12 organisations, blaming them of having a "terrorist" history or terror intentions and of having links to the State of Qatar.
Gargash said further that the pressure of the crisis "pays off" and could lead to "a sensible change of direction as a whole."
Since June 5, when the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt cut diplomatic relations with Qatar and issued a sea, air and land transport embargo against the gas-rich Gulf state, Gargash regularly communicated the UAE's position on Twitter.
