BEIJING, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.21 percent to close at 3,237.98 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.02 percent lower at 10,364.82 points. The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.09 percent to close at 1,690.15 points.
