London market visitors given taste of life from age of the dinosaurs

LONDON, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Visitors to London's famous Camden Market came face-to-face Monday with creatures from 65 million years ago.

Staff from London Zoo created a a pop-up "time travel" base at the iconic market to tell visitors about its unique safaris to the zoo's prehistoric paradise Zoorasic Park.

Market visitors had the chance to meet the Zoorassic Park tour guides as well as some special creatures brought back to the future for the one-off event, two adorable baby dinosaurs.

Under the watchful eye of the zoo's dinosaur experts visitors got up-close to Tyrone the baby tyrannosaurus rex, and baby triceratops Tricky, who loved having a tickle under the chin while posing for selfies.

The Zoorasic Park at London Zoo opens daily from Saturday, transporting visitors on a time travel expedition to the Mesozoic era, about 65 million years ago.

"Zoo guests can take in the fascinating creatures, as well as learn all about the important work conservationists at London Zoo are doing to help prevent today's animals from extinction," said a spokeswoman for the Zoological Society of London (ZSL).
