MADRID, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid on Friday made official the signing of Spain Under-21 international, Dani Ceballos from Betis for a fee in the region of 16.5 million euros.

Ceballos is Madrid's second signing of the summer following the arrival of Theo Hernandez from Atletico, although the club has also added Jesus Vallejo, Marcos Llorente and Borja Mayoral to their squad as they return from loan deals.

20-year-old Ceballos was recently named as the best player in the European Under-21 Championships as Spain reached the final before losing to Germany and he will add yet more depth to a Madrid squad, which looks to have options in nearly every part of the pitch.

His short career has had moments of controversy, especially after publishing some tweets in which he attacked Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and Barca and Athletic Club Bilbao supporters during the 2015 Kings Cup final.

"A bomb needs to fall on the stands and kill all the Catalan and Bizcayan dogs," tweeted Ceballos, who has also published several sexist comments on his social media site.

He has agreed a six-year deal with a buyout clause reported to be 500 million euros.
