ADDIS ABABA, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Guinea wants to emulate Ethiopia's experience in the economic and agricultural sectors, said the Guinean Ambassador to Ethiopia on Thursday.

The east African country is one among the ten countries that have maintained fastest economic growth globally, Ambassador of Guinea to Ethiopia Sidibe Fatoumata Kaba said.

Indicating her country's good relations with Ethiopia developed over the past years, the ambassador affirmed the interest to emulate Ethiopia's experiences in various areas, with due emphasis given to Ethiopia's economic development.

The ambassador noted that the interest to emulate Ethiopia's development gives sense as a considerable amount of the two countries population lives in rural areas, saying that "it is very important for us to know how Etthatia is dealing with its agriculture sector."

Fatoumata Kaba also revealed that the Guinean President Alpha Conde has already given instructions to ministers of finance, industry and international cooperation to benchmark Ethiopia's development experience in various sectors, including agriculture.

Referring to the regular thrice weekly flight of Ethiopian Airlines to Guinea, the ambassador lauded Ethiopia's major carrier for creating better opportunities for her country, saying that "it is a big achievement because before that our business persons suffered a lot in taking long routes to China, Dubai, Singapore. And this was very difficult to them."

Guinea, its economy largely dependent on agriculture and mineral production, is the world's second largest producer of bauxite and has rich deposits of diamonds and gold.
