THE HAGUE, July 13 (Xinhua) -- The Dutch National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV) on Wednesday night urged people to stay calm after the report of an Islamic State (IS) attack during the forthcoming Women's Euro 2017 in the Netherlands.

The call for an attack during the women's soccer tournament is being investigated by the NCTV.

Its national coordinator Dick Schoof told RTL Late Night: "We are now in a situation where other people can be given ideas," Schoof said, "Calm is incredibly important to prevent panic and fear."

The intelligence group Search for International Terrorist Entities (SITE) on Wednesday reported that Islamic State (IS) urged lone wolves to attack the Galgenwaard Stadium in the Dutch city of Utrecht during a Women's Euro 2017 match between England and Scotland on July 19.

"If there is a real threat, we will communicate that," said Schoof. "In this case, the message came to us via the media."

Schoof sees no reason to raise the terror threat level in the Netherlands. The terrorist threat level in the Netherlands is on "substantial", level 4 on a scale of 5, since March 2013.

That means the chance of an attack in the Netherlands is real but that there are no specific indications that terrorists are preparing to carry out an attack in the Netherlands.

The European women's championships starts on Sunday, July 16 with the match between hosts the Netherlands against Norway. The final is scheduled for Aug. 6 in Enschede.
