JAKARTA, July 12 (Xinhua) -- In a bid to lure visitors from Malaysia, Indonesia would take part in Malaysia's travel fair event slated for Aug. 4-6, an Indonesian official said.

"We have so many things to offer, will maximize our presence in the upcoming Malaysian travel fair held in Johor Bahru," Deputy Minister for International Tourism Marketing of Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism I Gde Pitana said in a statement on Wednesday.

Indonesia would bring 12 tour and travel agents to sell tour packages for potential visitors in the incoming event organized by Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA).

Pitana said that the Indonesian booth in the travel fair would highlight marine, cultural, shopping, golfing and spa tour attractions, among others.

Malaysia is among top foreign visitor suppliers to Indonesia along with China, Singapore, Australia, Japan and India over the last several years.

Indonesia has set the target to welcome 1,772,000 visitors from Malaysia this year, higher than 1,225,458 it received last year.

The nation aims to receive 15 million foreign visitors this year.
