MADRID, July 10 (Xinhua) -- There was no serious injuries on Sunday's running of the bulls (encierro), through the streets of Pamplona (northern Spain), which was the fourth day the famous San Fermin fiestas in the city, Spanish media reported on Monday.

The fourth "encierro" was carried out by fighting bulls from the Fuente Ymbro breeders, which covered the 875 meters from their holding pens to the city bullring in just two minutes and 18 seconds.

In Sunday's "encierro", none of the hundreds of people who ran alongside the bulls were gored by the animals, although two people were taken to hospital with cuts and bruises following falls.

One of the two who was taken to hospital was reported to have been tossed in the air by a bull which put its horn through his jacket, causing him to crash onto the floor and briefly lose consciousness.

The San Fermin fiesta sees the number of people in Pamplona rise from around 250,000 to close to a million during the celebration, giving an estimated economic impact of around 150 million euros to the city.

About 3,500 police officers are protecting visitors to this year's San Fermin from possible terror attacks and also sexual assaults. (1 euro = 1.14 U.S. dollars)
