Zambia announces team to play Swaziland in CHAN qualifier

LUSAKA, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Head coach of the Zambia national soccer team Wedson Nyirenda on Monday announced his squad that will face Swaziland for the second round first leg encounter.

The coach has named 25 players for the game to be played in Swaziland on Sunday, July 16.

The two teams are expected to meet for the return match on July 22 at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, the Zambian capital.

The coach has summoned 13 players from Zanaco and Zesco clubs, the country's representatives in continental club championships who missed the Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) Castle Cup tournament in South Africa where Zambia was beaten by Zimbabwe in the final on Sunday.

He has since dropped 10 players who played in the regional tournament.

The CHAN tournament is meant for players in local domestic leagues.
