TUNIS, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia's inflation rate of family consumption retreat to 4.8 percent in June after months of ascending curve since the start of 2017, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) of Tunisia announced on Saturday.
The INS, the main public institution responsible for official statistics, said the rate had rose from 4.6 percent in January to 5 percent in April.
It attributed the decline to the stabilizing price movements between May and June of this year, particularly the prices of food, which registered an increase of 3.9 percent last month.
Meanwhile, Tunisian family consumer price index grew by 0.4 percent month on month, mainly due to soaring prices of clothing and shoes during the summer season, which coincides this year with the festivities of the end of the month of Ramadan, explained INS.
