BANJUL, July 6 (Xinhua) -- The Gambia's government expressed Thursday its support for the African Union's (AU) reforms agenda on promoting good governance through the inclusion of young people of the continent.

Director of Press and Publication Relations of the Gambia Amie Bojang-Sissoho said the theme Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investments in the Youth was timely for tackling youth unemployment, a focus area for the Gambian government.

She said other issues, such as peace and security as well as providing a secure future for African youth through strategic interventions were also covered.

Gambian President Adama Barrow returned to Banjul Wednesday after attending the 29th Session of African Union Summit held in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa.
