Xi, Putin call for independent investigation of Syrian chemical weapon issue

Moscow, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin said here Tuesday that all parties concerned on Syrian chemical weapon issue shall respect the country's sovereignty, and support an independent and comprehensive investigation.

They also denounced the use of chemical weapons by anybody at any place.
