MADRID, July 4 (Xinhua) -- A man suspected of "radicalization" activities and of spreading Islamic State propaganda has been arrested by Spanish civil guards in the town of Collardo Mediano, the Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

The detainee is "of Moroccan origin and is a resident in Spain," the ministry said in a statement, adding that he used a computer to access radical jihadist content anonymously.

The detainee showed a "high level" of radicalization to those in his "inner circle" and had justified violent acts carried out by the IS, the statement said.

The latest detainment has brought the number of suspected jihadists arrested in Spain to 226 since the beginning of 2015.

The arrest came a week after four men were detained on the island of Inca, one of whom was suspected of plotting a terror attack similar to that occurred on London Bridge in June.
