PARIS, July 3 (Xinhua) -- A man on Monday tried to stab a soldier in front of the train station Lille-Flandres, north France, before being arrested and put into custody, BFMTV news channel reported.
A 53-year-old Belgian man, armed with a knife, sought to attack a serviceman patrolling the train station in northern town of Lille.
He was arrested in French-Belgian border and was placed into custody, it added.
According to the first elements, the man carried a letter indicating that he wanted to commit suicide, suggesting that the attack was not a terrorist act.
