6.0-magnitude quake hits area of Bahia de Caraquez, Ecuador -- USGS

NEW YORK, June 30 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted 31 km northwest of Bahia de Caraquez, Ecuador, at 22:29 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 7.41 km, was initially determined to be at 0.3328 degrees south latitude and 80.5066 degrees west longitude.
