BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- China on Thursday reiterated its support for the Philippines in combatting terrorism, saying that it will give a helping hand without any hesitation.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi made the remarks at a press conference following a meeting with his Philippine counterpart Alan Peter Cayetano in Beijing.

Wang said China has already sent the first shipment of emergency supplies and equipment to the Philippines, and will continue to provide necessary help and support.

"We are willing to work with regional countries, including the Philippines, to cooperate on information exchange, law enforcement, combat against transnational terrorism and other issues, in order to maintain regional peace and stability," he said.

The two sides also reviewed the cooperation between China and the Philippines since their ties were normalized in October 2016.

China has become the largest trade partner of the Philippines. The two countries have signed 22 cooperation documents in infrastructure, trade, agriculture, energy, tourism and other fields, and the Philippines' exports to China have significantly increased in the past seven months.

The two sides also agreed to enhance cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

China will support the Philippines' work as the rotational chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this year, so as to deepen China-ASEAN relations and cooperation with Southeast Asian countries, Wang said.
