Small plane lands on fuselage at Japan's Nagasaki airport

TOKYO, June 29 (Xinhua) -- A small aircraft made an emergency landing with no undercarriage, landing on its fuselage at Nagasaki Airport, the prefectural fire department reported Thursday.

The airport confirmed that a small airplane used as a training machine from a university in Kumamoto Prefecture had landed on the runaway at around 10:30 a.m. local time on its fuselage and as a result, the runway has been closed.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, also confirmed the reports and said that there were three people on board the plane, but that no one was injured as a result of the fuselage landing.

The ministry and relevant authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the emergency landing.
