TOKYO, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Wednesday morning bringing an end to a recent winning streak, with investors opting lock in gains rather than chase the market higher due to Wall Street's weak tone.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 58.88 points, or 0.29 percent, from Tuesday to 20,166.21.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 0.62 point, or 0.04 percent, to 1,618.40.
Rubber product, pharmaceutical and electric appliance-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
