CHENGDU, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Three people from one family have been rescued in southwest China's Sichuan Province, five hours after a landslide on Saturday morning.

The three people were taken to Maoxian County People's Hospital. None have life-threatening injuries. Another child of the family remains buried in house.

The landslide occurred at around 6 a.m. Saturday morning, burying 46 homes and leaving 141 people believed missing, according to the provincial government.

The landslide from a high part of a mountain in Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Aba hit Xinmo Village in Maoxian County, blocking a 2-km section of river and burying 1,600 meters of road.

The provincial government has launched the highest level of disaster relief response and sent rescue teams to the site, where more than 300 workers with excavators and life-detection instruments are engaged in the search for survivors, according to Tang Limin, spokesperson of Sichuan provincial government.

The provincial public security bureau has sent over 500 rescuers with 23 sniffer dogs and 16 life detectors to the site.

Some 130 traffic police have been stationed along roads and highways linking the provincial capital of Chengdu with the landslide site, more than 400 km away, a life line for rescue and disaster relief.

The power supply to Xinmo is still disconnected, but has resumed at other villages in the county, thanks to an emergency repair by the Aba Branch of the State Grid Corporation of China.

The provincial government has approved 5 million yuan (730,000 U.S. dollars) of relief funds, and sent emergency supplies to the site.
