JAKARTA, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's national police have detained nine militants involved in suicide bombings in the country's capital last month that killed three police officers.

"All the suspected militants were linked with explosions in a bus stop in Kampung Melayu," police spokesman Inspector General Setyo Wasisto said on Thursday, referring to the transport facility located in eastern Jakarta.

The nine persons were grouped in Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD), which has linkages with the global terrorist Islamic State group, he said.

Two bombers were killed and ten people were injured in the deadly strikes on May 24, according to the police.

The JAD has sent militants from Indonesia to Marawi city in southern Philippines to join other militants in the fighting in the city, according to the police.

The spokesman also said that the police have captured 27 other alleged terrorists across the country, a move which may foil them from launching further strikes.
