KATHMANDU -- Nepal and China have hailed here the smooth and healthy development of relations between the two countries.

CANBERRA -- After announcing a temporary halt of all air operations in Syria earlier this week , the Australian Defence Force (ADF) will resume its right to undertake airborne missions, the Department of Defence announced Thursday.

Earlier this week, the ADF said it would suspend operations after Russia warned members of the U.S.-led coalition that any aircraft found west of the Euphrates River would be considered a "target" after an American F/A-18 Super Hornet shot down a Syrian SU-22 on Sunday. (Australia-Syria-Operation)

YANGON -- Myanmar security forces have uncovered evidences that some training camps were secretly run by terrorists in Mayu Mountain in Buthidaung-Maungtaw area in western Rakhine state, said a statement of the State Counsellor Office on Thursday.

Three armed attackers were killed during the area clearance operation by the security forces over the past two days, said the statement, adding that a tunnel, home-made weapons, huts, ration, utensils and other items used in the terrorist training were also seized. (Myanmar-Terrorism)

MELBOURNE -- An Australian man died on Thursday after catching a rare mosquito-borne disease while on holiday overseas.

The Victorian man, aged in his 60s, contracted Japanese encephalitis while on a 10-day holiday in Southeast Asia in May.

He passed away at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH), where he spent more than three weeks since returning from his holiday feeling lethargic, on Thursday. (Australia-Mosquito) Enditem
