THE HAGUE, June 21 (Xinhua) -- The Dutch police have arrested an 18-year-old man in Utrecht last Thursday on suspicion of possible involvement in a terrorist offense, the Dutch public prosecutor announced on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old is suspected of spreading IS (Islamic State) propaganda, including violent videos. The police are also investigating evidence that he instructed others how to make explosives.

Information by the AIVD, the General Intelligence and Security Service of the Netherlands, led to the investigation and the arrest. The suspect was introduced to the examining judge in Rotterdam on Tuesday. He will be detained for at least two weeks.

The terrorist threat level in the Netherlands has been "substantial" on level 4 on a scale of 5 since March 2013. That means the chance of an attack in the Netherlands is real, but there are no specific indications showing terrorists are preparing to carry out an attack.
