TIRANA, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Albania has been in a process of legalizing housing constructions rapidly so far this year, in efforts to ensure that more families will obtain their property certificates at an early date, the Albanian authorities reported Tuesday.
The process of legalization has seen an expansion of housing constructions, especially during the first part of this year, with around 10,000 illegal houses receiving property certificates in the first six months, according to data released by the Albanian Agency of Legalization, Urbanization and Integration of Informal Areas (ALUIZNI).
The agency plans to issue around 40,000 legalization permits to illegal houses by the end of 2017.
Official statistics show there are about 450,000 applications for property legalization, meaning the process would take a period of time.
