Dollar changes hands in upper 111 yen zone in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, June 20 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 111 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Tuesday, rising from levels seen overnight in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 111.71-72 yen compared with 111.47-57 yen in New York and 111.11-12 yen at 5 p.m. on Monday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1145-1145 dollars and 124.51-55 yen against 1.1144-1154 dollars and 124.28-38 yen in New York and 1.1194-1195 dollars and 124.38-42 yen in late Monday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
