Chinese officials visit injured Indian players at BRICS Games

GUANGZHOU, China, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Sports officials from China on Monday paid their special visit to the two Indian basketball players who suffered injuries during Sunday's match at the ongoing BRICS Games.

On Monday morning, a group of officials from the State General Admininstration of Sport, the Guangzhou Municipal Sports Bureau, as well as the Chinese Basketball Association, visited the injured players at the hotel, expressing their condolence and wishing them quick recovery.

On Sunday, Indian point guard Vishesh Bhriguvanshi suffered a serious knee injury during the third quarter of the match, which China won over India 97-57. He was stretchered off the court, and accompanied by China's team doctor, while the Chinese fans were applausing for him to express their condolence.

To the visiting Chinese officials, Bhriguvanshi and his teammates expressed their thanks, and their coach said that they had a very nice reception since their arrival and received anything other than the utmost courtesy and genuine friendship among BRIC countries.
