Car crashes into police van in Paris, driver arrested

PARIS, June 19 (Xinhua) -- A car struck a gendarmerie van on Monday afternoon on the avenue of Champs-Elysees in Paris, French media reported.

No injuries are reported by far, and police intervention is on site, said the French television station BFMTV.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and placed in police custody, sources said.

The Champs-Elysees avenue was blocked after the intervention of police.
