BOGOTA, June 18 (Xinhua) -- In a televised address, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos announced his decision to cancel a state visit to Portugal after a terrorist attack in Bogota on Saturday, which has left three people dead.

"The first days after an attack such as yesterday's are essential. They are very important to direct the investigation and obtain results...in determining those responsible," he explained.

Although Santos will not to to Portugal, he will still travel to France in the coming days.

In the address, Santos called on his people to show serenity and unity after the attack in Bogota's Andino Commercial Center, killing two Colombian women as well as a French woman. The bomb went off in a women's bathroom.

The president offered a reward of 100 million pesos (33,600 U.S. dollars) for anyone providing information leading to the localization of those responsible.

He reminded the people that Colombia has faced such attacks in the past but that the country had always known how to respond.

Santos said that investigations had made progress but did not reveal any details.

However, the president added he would still travel to France soon to meet with President Emmanuel Macron and take part in celebrations for the anniversary of France-Colombia relations.
