French President Macron's party wins landslide majority in parliamentary election runoff

PARIS, June 18 (Xinhua) -- The Republic on the Move party (LREM) led French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday won a large majority in the National Assembly, the lower house of parliament in a second and final round of legislative competition that cleared the way for France's youngest top official to control the country's political power over five-year term.
